Bahrain has always been home to me. I grew up with the streets, the sea breeze and the late night lights woven into who I am. There comes a time when you leave a city you love. When you do, something stays behind. Most times, it is your heart.
This piece is for Bahrain: calm nights, good people and a layered story. Bahrain and Persia have been tied for centuries from early empires to the Ajam families who crossed the water in the 1800s and 1900s to build lives as merchants, makers and workers. Heart of Persia is about that shared thread: movement, memory and belonging to more than one place.
